New OE Mercedes Air Conditioning to Heater Change Over Control Switch.
This switch is mounted behind the dash and operated by moving a lever which is located under the fan switch knob, from left to right, to change from heater mode to air conditioning mode.
This is a combination switch that:
Electrically - re-directs the electricity from the heater blower motor to the air conditioning motor.
Mechanically - opens or closes the flap over the air conditioning blower and seals the heater air off, or visa versa, by operating a cable.
The Mercedes part number on this is 115 830 01 85
I am not certain, but the electrical switch portion may be the same as the later models, which is operated by a vacuum element to the right of the gas pedal. Email me with a description of yours and I can confirm or deny this.
